What Schools Need to Know
Upon reaching out to The Safe Zone Solution and arranging a meeting, what happens?
-
Once the decision is made to proceed: a representative from Safe Zone, along with a vendor for bullet-resistant polycarbonate and doors, will coordinate walkthroughs of all school campuses to develop a comprehensive design for a Safe Zone solution.
-
The strategy will involve assessing measurements of entry points, vestibule door windows, faculty offices, classroom glass walls, and identifying any vulnerable areas for maximum security with polycarbonate glazing and bullet-resistant doors. This will establish the highest standard of safety for students in the event of a school shooting crisis

This initiative is impressive! But what if the School District lacks the funds? Who covers the costs?
If the district currently lacks a funding mechanism, that's not a problem! The Safe Zone Solution assists school districts in navigating complex bureaucracies and bidding processes.
-
Safe Zone Solution is a 501(c)3 organization. Our grant writers secure funds from various sources including federal and state grants designated for school safety initiatives, private philanthropic groups, and organizations focusing on school shootings and child safety rights.

These grant providers and institutions serve as the funding source for the installation of glazing and bullet-resistant doors on school campuses.

Our only request in return:
The impact of school shootings on American students and families cannot be underestimated. Picture this: having no option but to drive to school daily in a car without safety features like seat belts, airbags, or emergency brakes. The fear and stress experienced inside American schools today are comparable to this scenario. Schools are not adequately designed to shield students and teachers from potential threats. This is our current reality.
We firmly believe that to address this crisis, school shootings must be legally classified as Emergency Safety Hazards, similar to fire and earthquakes, mandating specific safety measures in building codes universally.
To achieve this, schools would undergo retrofitting just like fire sprinklers and earthquake beams have been installed. Our goal is to enlist the support of state governors, legislators, mayors, local leaders, and architectural firms to consider this initiative as a pilot program for new school constructions in your state. The district would need to allow the Safe Zone Solution's work to be evaluated openly and transparently..
